Abstract

An electrical card/board power plane etched voltage divider choke for low transient current deviation speeds is described. Technologies involved with electrical card packaging have one common parameter which degrades their performance - electrical noise (radiated and conductive). Several techniques can be applied to reduce noise present in these packages depending on electrical parameters present. (Image Omitted) Utilization of an etched voltage divider choke around a low di/dt component connection to the perspective power plane (including ground) offers an excellent technique because it is virtually cost free. It is installed via the design of the electrical card. Manufacturing the choke involves no personalized assembly, installation, or special equipment.
