Edge Connector With .050" Center Line Spacing

This technique describes an electrical connector using 0.050" center line spacing between individual contacts instead of the normal .100" spacing, thereby doubling the number of connector contact positions. To achieve .050" spacing, the contact positions are staggered to eliminate the possibility of cross-talk or electrical noise interference between contact circuits. Providing an edge connector with .050" spacing between contacts, instead of the normal .100" spacing and still maintain the electrical requirements, the concept described herein provides a means of doubling the number of contacts within the same physical space as used in prior art.
