Method for Automatically Detecting Angle Encoded Information

Angle encoded identifications on semiconductor chips are detected by an image processing system (Fig. 1) and a method comprising the following steps: 1. recording an image by a TV camera, 2. digitizing the image by an A/D converter, 3. storing the digitized image in an image store (512 x 512 pixels with 256 grey value stages each), 4. transferring individual pixels from the image store to an image processor for processing, 5. transmitting the result to a control computer, and 6. comparing the result with desired values and subsequent storage.
