A carrier is disclosed for receiving a sheet of paper from a printer placed adjacent to and alongside of a primary document transport. The sheet of paper is rolled up into the carrier which is laterally transferred to the centerline of the main transport where it is unrolled and merged into the flow of other documents in the main transport. Fig. 1 shows a document-issuing mechanism 13, such as is useful in an automatic teller machine. Mechanism 13 issues documents 17 into a main transport 15. A printer 11 is located adjacent to mechanism 13. Printer 11 prints items, such as receipts or financial statements, which are issued vertically from the printer. As these printed documents issue from the printer, they are accepted into and rolled up within transfer carrier 19.
