The Trinary Gated Bidirectional Driver-Receiver (TGBDR) provides a trinary (3-level logic) interface between trinary logic chips. A gate line, also in 3 level logic, controls the connection of either the driver or receiver to the bidirectional bus. As shown in the Truth Table and the figure on the following page, Gate is the enable and disable control line for the driver and the receiver. Data Out is the internal trinary data which is driven to the bus when the Gate is logic 1 or 2 level. Data In is the resultant internal data having been received from the bus when the Gate is in either its 2 or 0 level. The Bus is bidirectional; it is both driven and received by this chip. Bus Drive is the same as Data Out when the Gate enables the driver.
