A magnetic brush developer system design is described which eliminates the need for metering devices and minimizes bead carry out. The magnetic brush developer configuration 10 (Fig. 1) consists of a series of magnetic rolls 11, 12 and 13 arranged serially around photoconductor drum 14. The magnetic rolls are fed with toner/carrier through a conveyor roll 15 and auger rolls 16 and 17. Magnetic rolls (Image Omitted) 11, 12 and 13 are of a suitable length for the desired copy size, for example, 15 inches, and have respective diameters of 54 mm, 36 mm and 45 mm. The key angular relationships between magnets and key magnetic shapes are illustrated in Fig. 1. The field profile plot of this design is depicted in Fig. 2.
