Disclosed is a device for checking the safe current limiting and the correct setting of the sensitivity adjustment of hipot testers used in computer-controlled test equipment in a manufacturing environment. Prior usage requires that each hipot tester be removed from the test fixture and recalibrated at the instrument servicing department before being returned to service. This happens rarely, causing equipment down time, and involves the services of specialists. Unsafe hipot testing may be undetected for months. The device disclosed accomplishes the same safety and setting checks in minutes by an ordinary operator without removing the hipot tester. It can be used as often as necessary to ensure hipot tester integrity. The circuit is shown in the figure.
