Abstract

In a bill-handling machine such as the automatic teller machine for dispensing bills to the operator(s), a dispense gate for horizontally stacking the bills fed thereinto is provided to tilt upwardly so as to make it easy for the operator(s) to access the stacked bills. Referring to Fig. 1, the bills are fed into the dispense gate through rollers 1 and stacked in a box 2 on the tilt plate 3, being guided by the bill guide lever 4. The tilt plate 3 is mounted in the box 2 through a pivot point 5 and also connected with a lever 6. Also, the plate 3 is biased by a spring 7 upward or clockwise about the pivot point 5 against a bill guide plate 8. After all of the bills are stacked in the box 2, it is driven by a motor (not shown) to move forward, pushing a front plate 9 to open, as shown in Fig. 2.
