This article describes a program which allows a fast method of sending and receiving responses from all commands that can be sent to and received by assembly line diagnostic link (ALDL) and Probe cards. It also can be used to validate command sequences that are used in developing application code to diagnose automotive vehicles. This program is written in Turbo Pascal* to communicate with either the ALDL or Probe card used in a technician terminal. It is designed to present a command to the card and receive the response. It is used to test and verify the interface protocol between the personal computer (PC) and the ALDL and Probe cards, to verify commands, and to verify command procedures before the application code is written to diagnose automobiles. The drawing is a flowchart of the program.
