An automated adhesive application arm is disclosed for applying a uniform film of adhesive to a flexible circuit held by a robot gripper. A dispenser applies a bead of adhesive across a transfer roller which is rotated against a static doctor roller to produce a glue film on the transfer roller. The flexible circuit is moved across the transfer roller, to receive a film of adhesive. The arm is pivoted to permit cleaning in a solvent tank. Two of these arms are used alternately in an automatic system which applies an adhesive coated flexible circuit to another component, cures the assembly, cleans the gripper in solvent and controls the robot. The adhesive application arm is shown in Fig. 1.
