Abstract

This tool gives a user information about a label, a command or another file that is referenced from a file he is editing. A user places his cursor under a word he is unfamiliar with, and presses a function key. The function key executes a utility macro (referred to below as "CALLUP") which provides information to the user on that label, command, or file name. CALLUP runs on the System Editor (known as "XEDIT") under the IBM VM/SP (Virtual Machine/System Product) CMS (Conversational Monitoring System) operating system. To use CALLUP, a user must assign CALLUP to a PF key in the XEDIT profile. When viewing a program in XEDIT, a user can then position the cursor under a label, a command, or a filename and press the CALLUP function key.
