This article describes a program that converts computer graphics pictures between a selected set of formats. A wide variety of computer graphics artistic packages have been developed that permit the user to save a picture from the display memory to a computer file for storage and later retrieval. Unfortunately, most of these packages have storage formats and methods that are incompatible with one another, and prevent a user from using the pictures generated in one package as input to a differing package. This incompatibility often forces a user to recreate a picture manually for each package desired, and restricts the user from taking advantage of the unique functions and operations of different packages to produce a single picture.
