A standardized workstation controller, which provides the flexibility to control functionally different workstations, presents a common interface to the workstation operator. (Image Omitted) Fig. 1 shows that the present embodiment consists of two units: Controller 1, mounted in the upper part of Support Frame 2, and Operator Panel 3, mounted on Pedestal 4. Mounted on the top of the controller cabinet is Station Status Indicator 5, a light pole with four different colored lights. Fig. 2 shows the principal elements of Controller 1. Microprocessor 6 is configured with the amount of I/O and RAM needed to meet individual workstation requirements.
