Integrated 8-Bit DAC

This 8-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) is designed for implementation using integrated circuit techniques. The DAC's modifier R-2R resistor divider network compensates for the Vbe drops of the DAC's eight current sources. The resistor ladder construction also reduces the resistance value range that need be provided in the ladder to accomplish the proper binary weighting. A series diode-resistor network provides temperature compensation for the eight current sources. The 8-bit binary digital input to the DAC is provided to eight pairs of input conductors 10-17. Pair 10 comprises the binary input's least significant bit (LSB), and pair 17 comprises the binary input's most significant bit (MSB).
