Multiple Speed Print Band Control Algorithm

This method as shown in the figures discloses a technique for speed control of a DC servomotor having eight different speeds and which utilizes only one third (1/3) of the microcontroller bandwidth, leaving the remainder for other functions. The method utilizes a main program and a sub-routine within the main program to control the speed of the motor. The main program is utilized until there is feedback data from the motor, in which case the main program is interrupted and the interrupt sub-routine adjusts the speed. In operation by continuously monitoring the speed of the motor there will be less velocity overshoot (Image Omitted) if the speed should change.
