This invention relates to a shuttle matrix printer, having dot-producing elements mounted on a replaceable member. This arrangement allows a customer to choose several different dot sizes and to quickly insert the replaceable member containing the dot-producing elements that will produce the selected print type. Referring to the figure, a print assembly 1 for an impact printer is shown. Printer assembly 1 comprises a shuttle hammer actuator assembly 2 and a spring beam assembly 3. Shuttle hammer actuator assembly 2 includes a plurality of actuators 4 and a plurality of beams 5. Spring beam assembly 3 includes a body portion 6 and a plurality of spaced apart finger portions 7, each having a dot-producing element 8 on the end remote from body portion 6.
