Abstract

1. Introduction This article describes a comprehensive mass data test system for a Time Division Multiplexer (TDM) which has a large number of communication data lines (V.24, V.35, X.21 and RS422/449). Normally, a Bit Error Measurement tool is used for data line quality measurement but only for single line testing. This test system (Fig. 1) has been invented to measure all data lines of TDM more conveniently and more collectively. Each measurement result of data line is monitored and logged every time by personal computer. A personal computer allows real-time monitoring and stores a test log file (Fig. 2). We can distinguish from a single line error and two or more line errors by the time stamp. If a single error has occurred, the problem is assumed to be before the multiplex logic or after the de-multiplex logic.
