Abstract

A plastic injection molded spring damper module is shown in the figure. This module holds a return spring and damper of a Linac actuator in place eliminating the use of conventional fastening methods, such as screws, adhesives, ultrasonic welding, and the like. The molded spring damper module 10 includes a rectangular body portion 20 and a side portion 30 outwardly extending from the lower middle of the body portion 20. The side portion 30 is molded to define a first cavity 31 having an interior, upwardly open offset 32, and a second interior, upwardly open cavity 33 proximate to the body portion. A U-shaped return spring 40 having a straight end 41 and a curved end 42 is received in the cavities 33, 31, respectively, with the curved end 42 being snapped into the cavity and retained by the offset.
