A single motor controller/multiple motor network is described. The motor controller provides a constant current, variable frequency output to a plurality of electric motors. One of the motors is a brushless DC motor. The DC motor includes a rotor position sensor whose output is connected as a feedback signal to a control input of the motor controller. The signal at this control input is effective to change the controller's output frequency. The other motors are AC induction motors. When a speed change occurs at the DC motor, due to loading of the motor, this effect is directly signalled to the controller by way of the above-mentioned feedback signal. The controller then corrects the DC motor's speed change by increasing or decreasing the controller's output voltage.
