Tinnerman fastening clips can be placed quickly and accurately by using a feed slide and plunger in combination to select and install the clips. Referring to the figure, a quantity of Tinnerman clips are placed in a feed column 2 of tool 1 and urged toward clip selector 3 by spring 4 on feed rod 5. The clips, feed rod and selector are covered with transparent shield 6. Selector 3 is urged left in its guideway 7 by spring 8 between studs 9 on the tool and selector. Upon retraction of selector 3 to the right and release, a clip is carried by recess 10 to the left under tip 11 of plunger 12, also beneath shield 6. Depression of plunger 12 against return spring 13 temporarily loads the clip into plunger tip 11.
