Programmable Cam Actuated Pick and Place Mechanism

A tool has been developed for moving small objects of varying heights from one location to another simply and accurately. It is a pick and place mechanism controlled by a single linear drive that is capable of providing linear and horizontal motions which may be programmed to provide variable motion ranges. (Image Omitted) The mechanism is equipped with a robotic gripper (not shown) which is mounted on the lower left side of a boom 1 (Fig. 2) attached to a cam plate 4 which, in turn, is attached to a vertical linear slide 2.
