The disclosed circuit allows the display of different picture sizes by selecting a different screen size without having to change data. One of a number of horizontal display resolutions may be dynamically selected with data to be displayed stored contiguously in a bitmap memory. The circuit is designed to switch the position of the raster address and some of the memory address bits within the bitmap address. The position of the raster address bits within the memory address bits is programmable by presenting a select code to the circuit. The display width can now be dynamically switched and images of contiguous data displayed unmodified. (Image Omitted) Cathode ray tube controller chips (CRTC) are designed to control character displays.
