This article describes a card retainer which is designed with a finger grip that is snapped onto each card for use during the installation of an option card in a personal computer (PC). The retainer disclosed herein is a departure from the conventional molded "U CHANNEL" which was snapped into each of the card slot locations in the PC CPU base. This retainer is snapped onto each card rather than into the base. The new retainer also adds more functionality to the part. Referring to the drawing, retainer 11 has a finger grip 1 for use during the installation of an option card 5. The user does not have to handle the card assembly with sharp component pins sticking through it. The finger grip is raised to provide for finger clearance and to provide a surface to hold the card assembly in place during shipment.
