Three-Dimensional Graphic Display

This article describes a three-dimensional graphic display for a computer system. Three-dimensional graphic information expressed by x.y.z coordinate values is calculated and transformed into two graphic images, one for left eye and the other for right eye, to generate the exact parallax on a graphic display. A left eye polarizer glass and a right eye polarizer glass of the glasses are selectively turned on and off in synchronism with the graphic images supplied to the graphic display. Referring to the figure, the three-dimensional graphic information expressed by the x,y,z coordinate values is stored in a memory 1 and supplied to a parallax generator 2, which calculates the three-dimensional graphic information to generate the graphic image for the left eye and the graphic image for the right eye.
