Abstract

A Document Redrive Mechanism, which transfers a bundle of documents to a point of availability to the machine user, consists of two clamping mechanisms, upper and lower, traveling in synchronism vertically between two side plates. Each clamp is comprised of a pair of opposed gripper shafts the ends of which travel in guide slots in the two side plates. The guide slots are so contoured that the clamps are individually controlled to open and close to accept, grasp and release the document bundle, as required, to effect the transfer. (Image Omitted) Fig. 1 shows the Upper Document Clamp assembly 1. It is seen that it is made up of two non-rotating Gripper Shafts 3 each carrying two Slide Bushing assemblies 4.
