Abstract

A burn-in fixture is disclosed which has semiconductor chips prebonded in groups to a polyimide tape with parallel busses down the length of the tape, sprocket locator holes along the tape edges, and two types of electrical connectors are shown for contacting the busses. (Image Omitted) The dynamic burn-in (B/I) fixture 10 (Fig. 1) utilizes a polyimide tape 11 threaded in a serpentine manner on a fixed rack 12 located in the burn-in oven 13. Semiconductor chips 14 are premounted on tape 11 in groups of 16 to 24 with blank frames 15 between groups to accommodate the sharp 180o bends and provide a location to cut the parallel buses to electrically isolate groups of products for test and handling purposes.
