A technique is described whereby an automatic applicator mechanism dispenses and applies a thin uniform resistive coating to a substrate by means of a bidirectional squeegee. (Image Omitted) The applicator, as shown in Fig. 1, is designed to function with conveyor 1, which transports input/output (I/O) contact pins positioned in pin boat 2. Conveyor 1 functions for the purpose of coating, curing and inspection of substrates. Fig. 2 illustrates the relationship of the pin boat, the I/O contact pins and coating in the completed stage. After pin boat 2 is moved into the applicator station on conveyor 1, boat lift cylinder 3 raises pin boat 2 from conveyor 1 into applicator head 6. Coating pump system 11 is activated so that coating material can be pumped into applicator head 6. Fig. 3 shows the detail of applicator head 6.
