Abstract

A robotic device is described which simplifies the staging, feeding, capturing, detecting and handling of small diameter, thin cross-section plastic bearings. Fig. 1 illustrates the overall device consisting of airfeeder 10 with staging device 11, escapement 12 and parts sensor 13. (Image Omitted) Staging Staging device 11 is a pneumatically-driven, double-piston device which presents bearings 14 on demand, one at a time, to air feeder 10. Bearings 14 are fed to staging device 11 from a bulk vibratory feeder (not shown). Feeding Air feeder 10 consists of air plenum 15 which is supplied with a regulated air source of 5 to 10 psi. The length of the plenum is adapted to the distance from the staging device to the part's receiving point.
