A utility is described for solving the problem of determining where in memory a program written to run in the Protect Mode of the IBM Operating System/2* resides. Useful information about an application includes its name and its segment register values. This information is often needed by developers, especially when an application contains multiple code and data segments, and when a program generates a protection fault. A solution was needed to find some way of recording an application's segment register values, so that: - The developer could identify his application if it generated a protection fault. - The developer could debug programs without having to put special 'hooks' in every code segment to invoke a resident debug program.
