Electromagnetic Compatibility Protection for a Logic Cage

This is a method for preventing electromagnetic radiation from entering or leaving a system comprising a conductive covered electronic logic card to which is plugged a smaller conductive electronic logic card and a grounding system enabling static charge to be bled off both between the conductive card covers and a logic cage and between a conductive tailgate bracket provided for user connection and the conductive card covers. Referring to Fig. 1, a logic cage 1 has the provision to accept covered logic cards 4 which are guided into cage 1 via cover rails 6 and matching cage grooves 7. Cage 1 has, attached to its rear, a backplane card 2 with attendant connector halves (not shown) which serve to provide electrical connection via connector halves 5 with covered logic card 4.
