Improved Serpentine Connector Assembly

Herein shown and described is an improved serpentine connector assembly which provides a connector which does not have to be affixed to a printed circuit board by soldering as has been the case with previous structures. Figs. 1 and 2, respectively, show the top and side views of an improved serpentine connector 10 which requires no soldering for its assembly with a printed circuit board. As shown, a contact post 1 is provided with a compliant or compressible portion 3 made either by stamping or coining the post 1 to provide the compliant section 3. The post 1 is affixed to the body 4 of the serpentine contact 5, for example by welding the interface between 4 and 5. Alternatively, contact 5 may be wrapped and assembled to the post 1.
