A safety hazard exists when hand soldering of materials, e.g., circuit cards, while the materials are at high temperatures. The static sensitivity of the product being soldered requires a special design to protect the user from the temperature hazard and also protect the product from damage due to an electrostatic discharge. A safety blanket design uses a heat resistant and electrically conductive material to achieve the design objective.
