Abstract

Heat producing semiconductor devices in a processor circuit module are protected from overheating by a system that includes a temperature sensor that is part of the module. The sensor temperature differs from the temperature of the devices, but it accurately follows the temperature of the devices. When the sensor signal reaches a set point, the protecting system signals for operator intervention by operating or service personnel or shuts down the module or the processor. These features of the protective system are conventional.
