Abstract

Printers often experience ribbon failures such as ribbon breakage or ribbon jamming resulting in the loss of output sent to the printer and, if not corrected, can also result in the printer drive system overheating due to excessive loading. The problem of ribbon failure can be especially troublesome if the printer goes unattended for long periods of time.
