A novel pseudo-random key generator is described in this article. The current Hagelin machine has the following disadvantages of too short key stream (KS) cycle length, too few keys, the 26 character set too small, manual rate operation and the key generator to key stream character conversion does not occur with equal frequencies, even if all 6 bit patterns appear equally often.
