Rotating Ronchi Ruling, Gaussian Beam Measurement Method

A Ronchi ruling method has been used to measure laser beam ellipticity. The laser is mounted in a fixed position and three different Ronchi rulings are swept past the laser beam. The lines in each ruling are rotated 60 degrees relative to lines in the other rulings. This article describes an extension of this technique which improves the ellipticity analysis while requiring a single Ronchi ruling.
