Improved Media Slitting Appratus for Extending Life of Cutting Edges

An improved media slitting apparatus has a plurality of cutting knives axially mounted on upper and lower shaft members is described. The lower shaft member has wider cutting knives and is horizontally positioned in a stationary manner relative to the upper shaft member. The upper shaft member having thinner cutting knives is mounted on opposed mounting blocks provided with an adjustment means for horizontally locating a cutting edge of the thinner knives adjacent to a cutting edge of the wider knives on the lower shaft member. The horizontal adjustment capability allows use of both cutting edges of the media slitting knives on both upper and lower shaft members.
