Technique to Define Boundaries for Data Packets

A 9-bit-wide Random Access Memory (RAM) chip, with the same packaging and performance as an 8-bit-wide chip is readily available commercially today. The present technique would continue to use 8-bits for data, with the 9th bit used for a parity check.
