Mobility of thermal grease, composed of zinc oxide and silicone oil of 100 centistoke viscosity with an oil-bleed inhibitor, can be diminished while retaining the necessary compliance and heat transfer by substituting silicone oil having 12,500 to 30,000 centistoke viscosity, and can be mixed using the same tool set or grease with the thinner oil, and the oil-bleed inhibitor can also be eliminated from the formulation. The longer molecular oil chains impart greater cohesion that permits elimination of dimples in the metal chip cover.
