Automatic Magazine End Closure
Original Publication Date: 1988-May-01
Included in the Prior Art Database: 2005-Feb-15
The disclosed magazine end closure selectively retains or releases parts from a parts feeding magazine. Prior magazine end closures included a pin or plug manually placed or removed from the open end of a magazine or an integral plastic tab formed from a section of the plastic magazine. The disclosed invention provides for the release or stoppage of parts from a magazine that is inserted into a feed track. Although the plastic tab of the prior art also releases parts from a parts feeding magazine by insertion or removal of a magazine from a feed track, the present invention is much more effective in that the closure recloses quickly and positively whereas the plastic tab returns slowly and will lose its closing force after repeated usage.
