Abstract

In the formation of high quality printed circuit boards by acid copper electroplating techniques, a multicomponent organic additive is required. There are three components of this additive designated "carrier", "leveler" and "brightener", and while the first two have a very wide range of acceptable concentrations, the brightener, which influences the performance of the acid copper electroplating bath most strongly, has a range of acceptable concentration that must be monitored and controlled constantly.
