Provided is a dynamic attribute bar for selection of various system and object
attributes to overcome the deficiencies of limited static attribute bars.
The technique allows for selection of various functions and attributes of
objects via a set of icons. The technique provides the following capabilities over
current attribute bars: selective presentation, movable, sizable, scrollable. All
attributes can be shown simultaneously for a quick visual reference and access
of hidden attributes.
The benefits to the end user are an easy to learn visual presentation of
function. Access to the function is consistent with other interaction styles in the
system. The technique also facilitates learning of the overall system and
applications via separation of function into objects and the attributes of objects.
