Concept Search - What can I type?
For a concept search, you can enter phrases, sentences, or full paragraphs in English. For example, copy and paste the abstract of a patent application or paragraphs from an article.
Concept search eliminates the need for complex Boolean syntax to inform retrieval. Our Semantic Gist engine uses advanced cognitive semantic analysis to extract the meaning of data. This reduces the chances of missing valuable information, that may result from traditional keyword searching.

Helix Hot Plug Resistor Pin
Using a laser beam to cut a thick film resistor on a pin surface into a relatively
long tight helix makes a robust, economical long resistor on a short pin.
The Figure shows the helix plug resistor pin. The helix cut 1 is created with a
laser beam or some other suitable means in the thick film resistor 2. The thick
film resistor 2 is fired on top of a glass ceramic or porcelain insulator layer 3. The
insulator layer is applied on top of a metal wire core 4. The wire core 4 can be of
steel, copper clad invar, etc. The purpose of the core is to provide strength and a
means for heat conduction for the active hot plug pin 5. The resistance can be
controlled by the cut configuration. Female receptacle 6 has two or more
contact spots and at least one of the contacts will be in touch with the helix, thus
providing continuous contact during hot plug operation.
The helix cut reaches the top of the insulator; the cut is preferably ten times
as wide as it is deep. Collar 7 completes the electrical circuit between thick film
resistor 2 and pin 5. Flange 8 provides a base and stop.
