Abstract

A special message from the host or Host Message can be displayed at the Indicator Row of a display screen by informing the operator of receiving the Host Message with a sign in the head of the Indicator Row displayed in reverse and blink rendition, and replacing the Machine Status display with the Host Message display with the Alternate Indicator key used. The indicator Row is used to display the Host Message to the operator. The machine has a Massage Buffer. The host can access the Message Buffer to store a message data. The host and the operator can select the Machine Status or the Host Message to display at the Indicator Row in Operation mode by the Select Indicator command and the Alternate Indicator key, respectively. The Select Indicator command and the Alternate Indicator key are valid only in Operation mode.
