Picker Pins and Leader Blocks for Tape Cartridges

Two picker pin and leader block designs for use with a threadable tape cartridge are shown in the figures. The first design includes a flat section which enters a keyed slot of a leader block. The picker pin is rotated by 90Œwhich then places a wedged portion to the keyed slot or introduces a widened section that is too large for the key slot after the pin is raised or the leader block is lowered. In the second design, the narrower portion of the end of a picker pin passes through the keyed slot and relative motion is provided between the picker pin and the leader block to cause a cylindrical portion with a wider width than the keyed slot to cause a connection between the picker pin and the leader block.
