Abstract

This apparatus is for automatically separating masks that have been laminated from a roll of the laminating material. Referring to the figures, mask 1 is laminated and fed by heated rollers 3 of the laminator. A foam roller 5 makes contact and slips as it rotates on base 4. As the leading edge of resist 6 is fed into the foam roller, it is pulled tight and fed through the cutting edge bar 14. Approximately 1/2" of the mask 1 is not laminated with resist. When the unlaminated leading edge of the mask reaches sensor "A" 8, a signal is given to the operator to feed the next mask. This is done to maintain approximately 1" of resist between each mask.
