This article describes a method for providing a user of a workstation or display terminal connected to a computer system with editor techniques for inserting hyphenation in a document that can be removed by future line adjusting and pagination. This method enables the user to make hyphenation decisions during keying or after the keying is done and the paragraph is adjusted. This method eliminates the restrictiveness of making the hyphenation decisions while keying in the "line end zone". This method provides the following user techniques for inserting and revising soft hyphenation points within a document: 1.
