Create Line Drawings From Gray Scale Data

When using images captured with gray scale, it may be desirable to convert the image to a series of lines which bound the gray areas of the image. An example of this type of image would be a child's colouring book. Conversion of images to line drawings reduces the information content and thus would facilitate quicker transmission and minimize storage requirements.
