Described is a configuration for connecting external I/O cables to a logic board, eliminating internal cables to logic cards. Referring to Figs. 1 and 2, the stiffener 1 aids in the automatic assembly of the serpent connector 2 on the logic board 3 by providing an alignment groove 4 for the serpent connector to be mated to the interposer 5 on the logic board 3. The stiffener 1 will also attempt to guide the external cable 6 to the mating serpent connector 2 on the board 3. The alignment fingers on the stiffener will also help to support the weight of the I/O cable on the board interconnection. These features can be all molded into one design.
