Abstract

A cable-mounting bracket is provided to clamp and hold the cable assembly, to provide the stationary guide for the flex cable assembly, and to provide a means to allow the data cable to pass through the casting out of the disk enclosure. The cable 3 (Figs. 1 and 2) is located on the two pins in the cable-mounting bracket 1. The hinged cover 5 of the cable-mounting bracket 1 is latched under the two latches 6 to retain the cable. A bracket seal 2 is slipped over locking tabs 8 on the bottom of the cable-mounting bracket 1. The connector end 7 of data cable 3 is fed through rectangular hole 4 in the casting 10, and the cable-mounting bracket 1 is snapped into casting 10. The locking tabs 8 provide enough pressure on seal 2 to maintain a static pressure in the disk enclosure of one inch of water.
